At VMJ, we believe music is something you experience with all your senses, not just your ears. For over twenty years, we’ve had the privilege of sitting down with alternative and visually-driven artists — from the Japanese rock scene to the international stage — to share the stories behind their art. Our goal is simple: to bring fans a little closer to the music they love. Whether through backstage glimpses, honest interviews, or exclusive photography, we’re just here to celebrate the heartbeat of the rock community alongside you.

Mandah FRÉNOT
Mandah FRÉNOT has been a music reporter since 2005 and founded VMJ in 2024. In 2015, she moved to Japan, inspired by the country’s vibrant music scene. Seeing an opportunity to connect Japanese bands with international audiences, she set out to bridge the cultural gap. With her focus on conducting in-depth interviews, she tries to reveal the humanity behind the artistry.
Yoann CLOCHON is a video-photographer specialized in music. His passion serves as the driving force behind his creative work. Fueled by an unwavering love for art in general, he has dedicated himself to honing his craft since 2012 when he moved to Japan. His goal is to highlight the visual identity of Japanese music artists, recognizing the pivotal role it plays in their work.
Eri TAKANO is a spirited woman who has discovered her liberation within the rock scene. Diligently working behind the scenes, she assists Mandah during her interviews and lends support to Yoann during his photo & video shoots. With her attention to detail, Eri ensures seamless communication and coordination, guaranteeing that every project runs like a well-oiled machine.
