On August 5, 2023 the music industry was shaken by the sudden loss of ISSAY, the enigmatic frontman of the iconic band DER ZIBET. ISSAY, a man known for his unique talent and gentle nature, tragically passed away at the age of 61 following a fall after a happy gathering with friends. In honor of ISSAY’s memory and his contributions to the music world, a tribute album is currently in the works, featuring more than 40 artists, who held a deep love and respect for him. The project, organized by close friend and producer Ito Haruhisa, is called ISSAY gave life to FLOWERS – TRIBUTE to DER ZIBET –. To support the creation of this tribute album, a crowdfunding campaign is currently underway and will continue until 23:59 on February 29. ISSAY’s team is humbly asking for your help and support in this endeavor to immortalize the artist’s legacy. The album production has started and is scheduled to be released this summer (2024).
Additionally, a special ceremony will be held on February 5 (Mond), marking six months since ISSAY’s passing. This event will provide an opportunity for fans and friends to express their gratitude for the love and inspiration they received from ISSAY and VMJ will be there so stay tuned. Here is the official statement: Attendees are encouraged to dress as they usually would – no need for mourning attire. The event will be a space for reminiscing, offering flowers, and raising a toast to ISSAY. Attendees are encouraged to spend the time as they wish, whether that’s sharing stories with friends or quietly reflecting. There’s no need to say goodbye – instead, attendees are invited to feel ISSAY’s presence, still close by their side”. Let’s come together to celebrate ISSAY’s life and legacy.
