BUCK-TICK | Live-Report @ Tokyo International Forum, Tokyo [JP] (2018)

by | Jul 28, 2018 | Report | 0 comments

BUCK-TICK launched their highly anticipated tour, BUCK-TICK 2018 TOUR No.0 on March 31 in Kanagawa, Japan. This tour came on the heels of the release of their latest and twenty-first studio album, No.0, which hit the shelves on March 14, 2018 (see excerpts below). Over the course of twenty exhilarating concerts across the Japanese archipelago, this legendary 80s band captivated audiences, culminating in a sold-out finale at the prestigious International Forum in Tokyo on July 26. With an impressive three-decade-long career, BUCK-TICK continues to prove their enduring power and influence in the music industry. BUCK-TICK was greeted with an electric atmosphere as they took the stage in a packed venue, where the excitement and anticipation were palpable. Throughout the performance, the band showcased their impeccable vocals, agile and precise musicianship, and a stage presence that exuded confidence and ease. The enduring success of BUCK-TICK was evident in their ability to captivate the audience. True to form, the group began by showcasing tracks from their latest album, but also included a well-curated selection of old and recent hits in their setlist (see details below). The sequence of songs was unexpected yet brilliantly crafted, showcasing the band’s versatility and thoughtfulness. The concert was a perfectly orchestrated spectacle, blending multiple universes seamlessly. From the lunar, ethereal, and fantastical world borrowed from their latest opus, to the mechanical and industrial vibes, and the electronic elements that define BUCK-TICK’s current sound identity, the staging was a visual feast. The only minor drawback was the absence of screens or other visual aids in the large venue, which could have enhanced the visibility of the concert for all attendees.
