After two decades of consistent success, Tatsuro, the renowned vocalist of the Japanese rock band MUCC, has made the decision to embark on a solo career. With the departure of drummer SATOchi from MUCC and the ongoing global health crisis, Tatsuro felt the need to explore his creativity and personal growth. To mark this occasion, Tatsuro released not one, but two studio albums on the same day, February 2nd. Quite intriguing, isn’t it? Stay tuned for an exclusive interview where we will delve into the content of these two albums, 「=(equal)」and Hikagaku Houteshiki (非科学方程式). Before the release of these albums, Tatsuro took the risk of stepping onto the stage directly with his first solo tour, titled Hajimemashite Tatsuro Desu (I’m Tatsuro, nice to meet you). After a series of successful performances in Japan, the tour concluded at Zepp Yokohama on February 12, 2022. The venue’s impeccable setup provided the perfect backdrop for Tatsuro to showcase his talent as a showman. While performing on such a complex stage may not come easily to everyone, Tatsuro effortlessly makes it seem like a piece of cake. With his energy and humor, the vocalist delivers a captivating performance that delights his audience. Accompanying Tatsuro on this tour were a group of skilled and talented musicians who are well-known in the Japanese alternative rock scene, and also happen to be his closest friends: Umi (vistlip), Nao (Arlequin), Masa (NOCTURNAL BLOODLUST), SORA (DEZERT), Hiromi Gotoh, and Fusafumi Adachi. Together, they created a solid and promising first tour for Tatsuro. There is certainly more to come, so stay tuned!
